Here’s where to eat this winter: A new food hall, The Hangar, is now open in South San Francisco. The glass-walled building designed by Flad Architects features multiple restaurant concepts.

A dining destination and restful stopping place for biotech employees and anyone looking to pop in to grab a cup of coffee or stop by for lunch.

The Peninsula just got a new food hall with five restaurants, a coffee shop and immersive art installations.

“The whole goal (of The Hangar) was to pay homage to South San Francisco,” said Carrie Pearl, a district manager at Bon Appétit Management Company who oversees The Hangar. “It’s kind of our love letter to the city.”

Offering six restaurant concepts, The Hangar serves a mishmash of cuisines in a massive aviation-focused, modern industrial building in South San Francisco.

The Hangar in South San Francisco and Kurated Kitchens in Sunnyvale take inspiration from aviation and family.

The food hall and market will open in South San Francisco later this fall serving various types of food and drinks.
